Title: Cannabinoid Manufacturing Project Manager (CMPM) Location: Flexible with travel to San Francisco, and our extended pilot and manufacturing network. Position: Full-time, reports to the Chief Technology Officer Company: Nalu Bio is a biotech company creating a new category of chemistry-based cannabinoids for the consumer and pharmaceutical markets. Nalu Bio has developed a proprietary cannabinoid chemical synthesis platform that will set a new industry standard for pure, consistent, and quality cannabinoids. Our innovative chemistry will solve many of the quality and consistency issues that plague cannabis-derived products currently. We have a world-class team highly experienced in healthcare, chemistry, cannabinoids, consumer packaged goods, and drug development. The Role: CMPM will be responsible for developing a seamless pilot plant to manufacturing process capability within a rapidly developing environment and delivering against commercialization milestones on or ahead of schedule. Responsible for managing multiple technical projects simultaneously and contributing to successful market introduction of the company’s products. The CMPM will need to communicate with staff and clients, make decisions and monitor the progress of the project to keep it on schedule. The Ideal Candidate: ●A Masters and/or advanced degree in chemistry is preferred. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry or chemical engineering is required. ●Project management certification* and a master’s degree is preferred . A minimum of 3+ years of project management experience. ●Experienced in managing projects with both internal resources as well as with a distributed network of external partners. ●Experience working in pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter medicines, and other highly-regulated markets is desirable. ●Communicating with the Executive Team to keep the project aligned with the company’s goals and milestones. ●Creating long- and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines. ●Delegating tasks on the project to employees best positioned to complete them ●Making effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with the project ●Performing quality control on the project throughout development to maintain Nalu Bio’s high standards and ethics. ●Conduct organic synthesis of small molecules and natural products ●Purify organic compounds using a variety of techniques including extraction, crystallization, distillation, chromatography, etc. ●Characterize intermediates and final compounds using a variety of analytical techniques ●Properly document experimental procedures, process scale-up, and optimization ●Basic troubleshooting of all equipment ●Start-up experience is a plus!
